What is the Art Court?
The Art Court was developed in 2007 to allow artists to show and sell their works during the summer months while the Beaverton Farmers Market runs in the parking lot next to our church. The church provides the space for a small fee that will benefit the ministries of Beaverton First United Methodist Church. (BFUMC)
Artists display in the grass surrounding the Beaverton First United Methodist Church and consist of watercolors, jewelry, crafts, gifts, photos, etc. The Art Court is not connected with the Farmers Market. All artists must submit a sample of their work for approval. This can be sent via email, fax, or mail. Samples can be returned at request. BFUMC reserves the right to ask artists to not display work that does not fit with the representation of the sample submitted.
The Purpose of Art Court
• To increase the profile of BFUMC at the Farmer’s Market
• To generate some identification of the church in the community.
• To generate some income for the church in light of rising energy costs and appeals for assistance.
• To provide a location near the Farmer’s Market for our friends in the art community.
